Trello Review
This post is the first of a series of reviews I have put together for my portfolio project. I will be rating each of the softwares on a 5 star system in the following categories of design, user-friendliness (how easy it is to learn/operate), and level of customization.
First on the list is Trello. Trello is an organizational app that allows you to create to-do lists with "cards" for each task. You can then label each task with colors that can be customized with certain names (for example, you can name the red label "urgent"). You can also assign due dates to each task and create multiple lists. The default lists are already set up as "to-do," "doing," and "done" so you can move cards between these lists as soon as you set up your account! Trello is useful as a personal tool but it's also a fantastic collaboration tool so you can invite other people to join your Trello board for use inside your company or a smaller group within the company such as a committee or your sales team. The application runs inside your browser so you don't have to install it to your computer, or you can download the app to your phone and have it right there in the palm of your hand. The phone application is very easy to use and can sync with the browser version, meaning all members of a certain board can use whichever version they are most comfortable with, or both if they wish.
I am very impressed with this application and have already started using it exclusively to keep myself organized. It's very stress-relieving to have everything you need to do compiled into one visually appealing place.
Design - Five stars, hands down. It's clean and I had no issues with bugs or slow loading times. And the simplistic look doesn't take away from the true purpose, which is to get your work done.
User-Friendliness - 5 stars! It was very easy to use and hardly required any explanation simply because it was very straightforward.
Customization - 5 stars (again). Trello is a very customization oriented platform because each person stays organized in different ways and they recognize that. They make it very easy to tailor the visual appearance to your own preferences.
I know it's strange that I start off with a perfect score but I really think Trello earned this one. I tried to stay unbiased and I didn't have to even try hard because they made it simple for me. This is a tool I highly recommend for everyone, even if it's just for personal organization.
