Salesforce Review

Salesforce is a CRM (Customer Relationships Management) software, which basically means it is a tool for companies to compile customer information and facilitate sales and transactions. It's a very visually appealing application, and very easy to learn with tons of training material available straight from their website as well as a "tour" built into the trial version of the program. It uses a style that I find similar to the card system found in Trello, but it is much more in depth. The "cards" in this case are actually accounts or contacts. Each of these contacts can be filled out in great detail and the software keeps track of how far each "opportunity" is along the sales funnel.

This program is very efficient and promotes teamwork and accountability within the workplace. There is no installation required and it syncs across platforms very quickly. They also have a mobile application, but I have not tested it yet. I will make an edit to this post when I get the chance to do that.

Design - 4 stars. Salesforce is a very well-designed program, but it can seem cluttered at times. It presents information in a visually appealing and structured format that is great to work with, however, they implement a lot of colors that can sometimes be distracting. It also provides a lot of tools in one place that is accessible to everyone in your company so they are all on the same page, but it can be a lot on one page at times.

User-Friendliness - 5 stars. This program is very complex and there is a lot to learn, but the Salesforce developers make learning material very easy to access and they took a lot of steps towards creating a less intimidating first impression for users. They also have very helpful support and a built-in tour as I mentioned.

Customization - 3.5 stars. There are several different plans available for Salesforce, however, only the top plans provide full customization. Most companies will probably spring for those plans anyway since they provide the most users as well, but the trial version being fully customizable is misleading if you don't need the top tier plans.
