Day 11: Look Up

When I wrote my first blog post, I got really caught up in the site analytics. It demotivated me and got me pretty down when I saw only a handful of people visited the page and the page visits were not in favor of the pieces I put the most effort into. I didn't feel like writing anymore because I felt like the posts I put a lot of effort into wouldn't do as well as I wanted them to, so I stopped posting thinking "what's the point?"

Since I started the daily writing challenge, I realized that the statistics aren't why I decided to write in the first place. Nor are they the reason to do anything. Colossians 3:23 says "Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men." In the end, it doesn't matter what other people think as long as you worked with all your heart for the glory of the Lord. If you do that, He will show you the people who matter and those who don't you can shrug off.

The cool thing about this mindset is that it doesn't matter who or what you have to deal with, you can be under attack from all sides, and all you have to do is look up. You don't have to worry about pleasing anyone because even when we were at our lowest He looked at us with love. And there's nothing we can do to earn that. Isn't that relieving? We don't have to stress over earning God's love because there's nothing we CAN do, He loves us anyway though. I'm gonna leave that there because there's nothing to say to make that any better than it already is.
