Day 3: The Real Hero

When I was younger I wanted to be a super hero. Honestly it's something I still think about pretty often. The thought of having superhuman abilities is thrilling to me, and plenty of other people I'm sure judging from the popularity of many films and shows that follow this premise. We all want to make a difference and for the longest time I thought that meant having some extraordinary gift, maybe not superpowers but perhaps a superior intellect or creativity.

But the reality is that you don't need super powers to be a hero. All you need is a commitment to do something above and beyond every day. Buying a meal for a homeless person, holding the door for someone, making sure to leave a good tip for your waiter, even letting someone in front of you in the line at the store because they only have a few items.

I know all of this sounds cliche, but cliche just means that we say it a lot. And I think it's sad that we say these things so often that we get tired of hearing them and yet we don't actually do anything about them. So my question is, what act of heroism are you going to do today?
